Destratification Systems

Destratification Systems

One of the principal laws of physics states that hot air rises, meaning that heat created at ground level quickly makes its way up to the ceiling, a phenomenon called thermal stratification. This creates a significant temperature difference between the two areas, and as a result, radiators have to pump out significantly more heat than necessary to compensate for this rise and can sometimes cause an unpleasant working environment.

Thermal stratification is probably one of the single biggest sources of energy wastage in the UK today. Destratification units compensate for this effect as they evenly disperse the rising heat around a room, meaning that far less energy is needed to reach the desired temperature. This can result in savings as high as 50% on heating costs and 40% on cooling costs. The overall atmosphere of the room will also be vastly improved.

Any building with a heating or cooling system and a ceiling height of between 2.5 and 31 metres can benefit from a destratification unit. The units require minimal maintenance, and are suitable for a wide range of industries, from retail outlets to warehouses and offices.

Benefits of Destratification Units

  • Reduce heating costs by up to 50%
  • Reduce cooling costs by up to 40%
  • Reduce CO2 emissions by up to 50%
  • Reduce condensation
  • Unobtrusive units requiring minimal maintenance
  • Rapid ROI – normally 12-24 months
  • Create a more pleasant environment
