TGE Group on Show at International Horse Event

9th June 2014

TGE Group will be exhibiting at the Bolesworth CSI International showjumping competition in Cheshire on 12th - 15th June 2014, giving visitors the chance to see world class riders in action and the opportunity to find out how renewable energy can boost equestrian businesses.

“This is the first time that TGE Group has exhibited at this prestigious event, however we are seeing an increase in enquiries from equestrian property owners keen to reduce operating costs,” explains TGE Group Managing Director, Rupert Higgin.  “There are so many ways in which renewables can help, not only in generating additional revenue, but also driving down energy bills and increasing efficiency.”

The experienced TGE Group team has already helped many yards and farms to install biomass, heat pumps, solar thermal and solar PV systems.  Each property has its own unique set of energy requirements depending on building structure, location and use of energy either for office and staff quarters or for wash downs, lighting, exercise pools, horse walkers or solaria.

Stable blocks and indoor arenas offer good sized rooftops than can often be used for solar power generation.  Planning has now been lifted for most commercial rooftop installations making it even easier to install solar. For those with staff quarters, district heating systems using heat pumps or biomass boilers is another good option for reducing bills.

The government supports the installation of renewable technologies with financial incentives such as the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) and the Feed-in Tariff (FiT). These payments can bring payback down to as little as five years with a return on investment of up to 20%, depending on technology and energy use.
