TGE Group Becomes Energy Services Company Offering District Heating Systems

10th July 2014

Renewable energy specialist, TGE Group, has become an Energy Services Company (ESCo) enabling property developers to have the option of outsourcing the ownership, installation, management and billing of renewable district heating systems for residential or commercial developments.

These turnkey solutions, which use either heat pumps or biomass boilers, deliver efficient heating systems that lower carbon emissions and increase energy security on site.  The systems can also offer more competitive and stable energy pricing than traditional fossil fuel systems.  They also help developers achieve Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes and avoid the expensive safety factors associated with installing gas systems.

TGE Group has been providing this service for Bellway, the national developer, on its apartment blocks for the last 3 years using air source and ground source heat pumps and has assumed responsibility for the operation, maintenance, billing and customer care for all their communal heating issues.

“The main benefit from using an ESCo is that developers avoid the high costs of installing and running a district heating scheme,” explains TGE Group managing director, Rupert Higgin.

He continues, “We are able to supply a reliable and carefully managed renewable heating scheme with an agreed pricing structure to deliver low annual energy bills.  It is a strong proposition that delivers a high quality of customer service to end users and removes the burden of renewable energy design, installation, maintenance, servicing and billing from developers and facilities managers.”

TGE Group offers a wide range of products and services including solar PV, solar thermal, heat pumps, biomass boilers, low energy lighting, energy management and procurement.  The company now employs more than 70 people and runs highly trained heating and electrical installation teams across England and Wales.
