Three Self-Contained Biomass Units Commissioned

1st August 2014

Summer 2014 sees the commissioning of three commercial, self-contained biomass projects, designed and installed by TGE Group.  Each project is for a different sector, care home; school and golf club, yet they all share high heat requirements and were keen to upgrade costly, outdated heating systems.

Another aspect that each project has in common is that space was at a premium and the best way to house the biomass unit and fuel store was in a sympathetically wooden clad, self-contained unit delivered direct to site.

The three projects: Didsbury Golf Club, Manchester; Tiferes Girls School, Manchester and a Safe Harbor Care Home in Whitchurch, Shropshire were all looking at lowering their fuel bills and generating an income through the RHI by replacing their existing, costly central heating with modern biomass technology.

The advantage of the self-contained biomass units is that they are fitted out in our warehouse, reducing time on site.  The containers house the biomass boiler, flue, thermal store and fuel store along with all the required electrics and piping to be connected on site, no extra building work is required and planning is straightforward as it is a non permanent structure.  Full monitoring has been added to each system so that any change in predicted performance will send an instant alert to our monitoring team, enabling remote and on site back up.
